Polish meets structure in this vibrant red, whose raspberry and boysenberry flavors are accented by crushed stone and dusky spice notes while building tension and richness toward fine-grained tannins. - Tim Fish
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton 2022 is part of the AVA series, inspired by 200 million years of tectonic plate subduction and 15 million years of volcanic activity that shaped Oregon’s Willamette Valley. This bottling highlights the highest quality vineyards in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, known for its marine sedimentary soils that impart elegance, structure and spice to the Pinot Noir. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (30% new), the 2022 vintage offers vibrant aromas of tart cherry and bramble fruits mingled with warm spice notes of cinnamon, clove and cola. On the palate it is elegant and focused with polished texture, medium body, fine tannins and excellent balance. A refined Pinot Noir that beautifully showcases the distinctive character and geological influence of the Yamhill-Carlton terroir.
