A rich and detailed Pinot, with a keen structure and polished texture that highlights raspberry and blueberry flavors accented by dusky spice and stony mineral notes as this gathers tension toward refined tannins. - Tim Fish
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard 2022 comes from one of the most celebrated sites in the Willamette Valley, located on the south-facing slopes of Mount Pisgah at 600–800 feet elevation. The vineyard’s marine sedimentary soils, rich in iron and basalt, produce Pinot Noir with exceptional structure, depth, and complexity. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (30% new), the 2022 vintage displays vibrant aromas of red cherry, black raspberry, wild strawberry, rose petal, and earthy spice. On the palate it offers bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, layered fruit, and a long, mineral-driven finish. A refined and expressive Pinot Noir that beautifully showcases the purity, elegance, and distinctive character of the Freedom Hill Vineyard terroir.
