There’s an appealing edge to this Pinot, which is buoyed by bright acidity. Its sleek tannins are framed by boysenberry, stony mineral and spiced tea flavors that gain traction on the zesty finish. Drink now through 2033. - Tim Fish
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Savoya Vineyard 2022 comes from the winery’s home vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, planted between 1999 and 2003 on southeast-facing slopes at around 400 feet elevation. This site produces Pinot Noir with consistent dark fruit, richness, and delineation thanks to its fertile, gravely soils and maritime-influenced climate. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (30% new), the 2022 vintage is savory, floral and spice-focused. It displays elegant red fruits of raspberry, red plum and cranberry, complemented by rose petal, violet, sandalwood and subtle spiced tea notes. On the palate it offers bright acidity, sleek tannins, lively texture and excellent balance. A refined and expressive Pinot Noir that beautifully showcases the distinctive character and promise of the Savoya Vineyard terroir.
