A distinctive red, with broad shoulders. Yet this retains a sense of finesse and richness, offering raspberry and guava flavors accented by forest floor, rose petal and black tea notes. Finishes with medium-grained tannins. - Tim Fisher
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Guadalupe Vineyard 2022 comes from a highly regarded site in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, planted on south and southeast-facing slopes with marine sedimentary soils. This vineyard consistently produces Pinot Noir with depth, structure, and a signature spicy character that defines the appellation. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (30% new), the 2022 vintage displays vibrant red and black fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, blackberry and plum, layered with warm spice, cola, rose petal and earthy undertones. On the palate it offers bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, excellent clarity and a long, elegant finish. A refined and expressive Pinot Noir that beautifully showcases the purity, power and distinctive spicy elegance of the Guadalupe Vineyard terroir.
