The entirely barrel-fermented 2023 Chardonnay is produced mainly from purchased fruit, primarily from Carneros. Approximately 30% of the blend underwent malolactic fermentation; 11% of the barrels were new. Pride Mountain Vintner Select Chardonnay 2023 is an acid-driven yet generous wine from the high-elevation vineyards of Pride Mountain Vineyards on Spring Mountain, straddling the Napa and Sonoma county line. Barrel fermented with only 10% new French oak and partial malolactic fermentation, this cuvée showcases the bright, vibrant style that defines the estate. The 2023 vintage offers ripe, generous aromas of nectarine and peach that evolve with time into enticing notes of honeysuckle and lemon verbena. On the palate it is vibrant, integrated and complete with bright acidity, creamy texture and excellent length. A refined and energetic Chardonnay that beautifully reflects the purity and freshness of Pride Mountain’s high-elevation terroir.
