The 2023 Bourgogne-Chitry, which matured in a combination of demi-muids and regular barrels, has a backward nose that unfurls with lanolin, grilled hazelnut and just a hint of smoke. Again, this is quite complex. The palate is clean and fresh, with a lovely texture of orange rind mixed with tangerine that dovetails into a saline finish. It's not as long as the Aligoté Plantation 1902, but this deserves a few months once in bottle. - By Neal Martin
De Moor’s Bourgogne Chitry 2023 is an organically farmed Chardonnay from the cool, limestone-rich hills around Chitry, showcasing a lean, mineral-driven Burgundian style. Aromas of lemon, green apple and white flowers are underpinned by a pronounced chalky, saline edge. On the palate it is precise and linear, with bright acidity, modest alcohol and a stony, refreshing finish. A vibrant, terroir-focused white, delicious now and ideal for short-term cellaring.
