Description

Mikulski’s Meursault Limozin 2020 comes from a minuscule 0.15‑hectare plot of 65‑year‑old Chardonnay vines, farmed organically (non‑certified). In some vintages it is blended into the village Meursault; in strong years like 2020 it is bottled separately in very limited quantities (around 600 bottles). The subsoil is fine alluvial river sediment, poorer in limestone and more draining, giving a slightly heavier, textural style.

Aromatically it recalls nearby Charmes: wax, candle and honey polish over veal‑ and white‑truffle‑like savoury nuances, then half‑roasted, half‑poached white fruits (pear, white peach, grape, apple) and spice led by nutmeg, with hints of cinnamon, turmeric and mixed peppercorns. With air, it gains a honeyed, spicy floral complexity and a subtle musky, “spice‑market” character. The palate is full‑bodied and silky, with poached white fruits, crème brûlée, roasted peaches, peppery, spicy pear and orange‑citrus lift. The finish is powerful, mineral and persistent, with smoky, earthy undertones that promise great evolution.

Ideally enjoyed 5–10 years from vintage, when mature notes of honey, exotic fruits, butter, hazelnut, grilled almond and yellow fruits fully emerge.
