Description

The 2022 Puligny‑Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet from Etienne Sauzet is excellent, combining precision with depth. It opens with aromas of lemon oil, citrus confit, mandarin, white flowers and freshly baked bread. On the palate it is medium‑ to full‑bodied, satiny and seamless, with good concentration and structure, finishing long with a subtle nutmeg note. Hand‑harvested fruit is gently pressed and fermented in wood with ambient yeasts, then aged in a mix of barrels and larger formats on its lees before bottling under high‑quality natural cork. A refined, ageworthy Puligny 1er Cru from one of Sauzet’s strongest recent vintages.
