The 2002 Brut Rose explodes from the glass with endless layers of huge, voluptuous fruit, A big, full-bodied wine, the 2002 is probably the most overly vinous, intense Rose ever made by long-time Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. Layers of cool, insistent minerality balance the fruit beautifully on the crystalline, vivid finish. The 2002 will be nearly impossible to resist young, but take my word for it; the wine is extremely closed right now. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2032. - Antonio Galloni, Published in 2012
Dom Pérignon Rosé 2002 is a landmark vintage rosé from Épernay, blending Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards and matured for many years on lees before release. The bouquet is rich and expressive, with ripe raspberry, wild strawberry and cherry layered over peach, blood orange, toasted brioche and the subtle smoky note that defines Dom Pérignon’s reductive style. On the palate it is concentrated yet precise: generous red and stone fruit, fine mousse, vibrant acidity and a chalky mineral backbone, finishing long with hints of spice and citrus peel. A benchmark prestige rosé, at a beautiful drinking point now with significant further ageing potential.
