93 Points James Suckling
A savory and vibrant wine with concentration and elegance. Restrained nose of cedar, sage, roses and apricots. Medium-bodied with long, refreshing acidity and a stone fruit aftertaste.
Blanc de Blanchis Riserva 2020 captures the essence of the Blanchis hill, a balanced estate-grown blend of Friulano, Chardonnay, Malvasia Istriana and Sauvignon from historic Collio vineyards (Guyot-trained, ~4,830 vines/ha, average age 15 years). Vinified as a white with gentle whole-bunch pressing, Friulano, Malvasia and Sauvignon ferment in stainless steel while Chardonnay is fermented in new French oak barriques. The result is a wine of outstanding structure, with a profusion of intense fruit and flower aromas supported by bright acidity and a distinct saline, mineral edge, giving the wine particular finesse and length.
