Timo Mayer’s Merlot 2020 from the Yarra Valley is a lifted, savoury take on the variety, favouring brightness and texture over weight. Aromas of red plum, blackberry and black cherry are woven with cocoa, dried herbs and a touch of cedar. The palate is medium‑bodied and lively, with juicy fruit, fresh acidity and fine, supple tannins leading to a gently earthy, persistent finish.
