Château Batailley, Pauillac, Bordeaux, 2005 (Jeroboam 3 Lt)

CI$443.00
93 Points Wine Advocate, Neal Martin- Tasted at a château vertical, the 2005 Batailley shows vibrant red berry fruit, superb mineral tension and hints of rose petal. The medium‑bodied palate has finer tannins than earlier vintages, with graphite notes and a long, focused finish. Still some oak to integrate, so it will benefit from further cellaring, but already shows the precision that marks Batailley’s modern rise.

Description

Château Batailley 2005 in Jeroboam is a substantial, classically built Pauillac from one of Bordeaux’s great modern vintages. Cabernet Sauvignon leads with blackcurrant and dark berry fruit, layered with cedar, graphite, tobacco and subtle spice. The palate is medium‑ to full‑bodied and structured, with fresh acidity and firm yet polished tannins, finishing long and savoury. The 3‑litre format allows for especially slow, graceful evolution, making this an ideal centrepiece for the cellar or a large table.
